The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has announced the notification for the Integrated 72nd Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination 2026. A total of 1230 vacancies have been announced for various posts under different departments of the Bihar Government.

3. Salary and Pay Scale
The pay scale varies by post, ranging from Level-9, Level-7, and Level-6 as per the Bihar State Pay Matrix.
4. Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from any recognized University is mandatory for the 72nd Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination. Specific qualifications apply to certain Table-II posts.
Age Limit (as on 01/08/2026):
- Minimum Age: 20 years for Police Sub-Inspector, 21 years for Level-6 and Level-7 posts, 22 years for Level-9 posts.
- Maximum Age: 37 years for UR (Male), 40 years for EBC/BC (Male & Female), 42 years for SC/ST (Male & Female). Additional relaxation for PwBD and Bihar Government Employees.
Mandatory Requirement: Bihar Domicile is required for reservation benefits. Candidates from outside Bihar can apply under the Unreserved (UR) category.
5. Application Process
Applications must be submitted online only through the BPSC Online Application Portal (bpsconline.bihar.gov.in).
- Candidates need to complete One Time Registration (OTR) on the BPSC portal.
- Upload all supporting documents in PDF format.
- Keep a valid email ID and mobile number active.
- A live webcam photograph and Hindi/English signatures are required.
6. Application Fee
Examination Fee: Rs. 100/- for all candidates (per examination). An additional Biometric fee of Rs. 200/- applies if Aadhaar is not provided.
7. Selection Process
The selection process includes Preliminary Examination (OMR Based MCQ), Main (Written) Examination, and Personality Test/Interview.
