3. Position Details

• Position Name: Executive Director, Council for Leather Exports (CLE)
• Number of Vacancies: 1 (One)
• Pay Scale: Level 12 (Grade Pay 7600) as per 7th CPC Pay Matrix or as determined for retired Govt. Officers / Contract basis.
• Posting Location: Delhi / Chennai
• Method of Recruitment: Direct Recruitment / Deputation / Promotion through internal candidates / Contract basis from retired Govt. Officers.

4. Eligibility Criteria & Age Limit (as on 01/01/2026, unless specified)

Educational Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in Economics/ Commerce/ Engineering / Business Administration/ Chartered Accountant from a recognized University/ Institute.

Age Limits:

• Internal Candidates: Not more than 57 years.
• Applicants on Deputation Basis: Maximum 56 years as on closing date of application.
• Open Market Candidates (Direct Recruits): Not more than 47 years.
• Retired IAS Officers: Not exceeding 62 years.

Experience:

• Internal Candidates: At least 5 years of regular service as AD/DD/RD rank in Pay Matrix Level 11 (Grade Pay Rs.6,600/-).
• Deputation Applicants: Five years of regular service in Pay Matrix Level 11 (Grade Pay Rs.6600) in Central/State Government or autonomous bodies.
• Open Market Candidates: Minimum 15 years' experience in a senior position in a reputed Trade Promotion Organization/Export Promotion Council/ Public or Private Sector Enterprise/ relevant Government Department/ Autonomous Organization. Candidates from Govt./PSU/Autonomous bodies need 5 years in Level 11 (Rs.6600 GP). Private sector candidates CTC not less than Rs.30 lakh per annum.
• Retired IAS Officers: Not below the rank of Joint Secretary at the time of retirement.

Additional Requirements for all methods (where applicable): Knowledge of National and International Trade Policy, WTO, trade agreements, and experience in liaison with high-level Government functionaries.
