3. Posts and Vacancies

A total of 96 Teaching posts are available for Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor roles across Kalyana Karnataka Cadre and Residual Parent Cadre.

• Professor: 20 vacancies (approx.)

4. Salary (2016 ICAR/UGC Pay Scale)

• Professor: Rs. 1,44,200 – 2,18,200
• Associate Professor: Rs. 1,31,400 – 2,17,100
• Assistant Professor: Rs. 57,700 – 1,82,400

5. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following criteria as of 20/06/2026:

General Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science/Dairy Science/Fisheries Science.
• Master's degree with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) or equivalent CGPA in concerned/allied subject.
• Knowledge of Kannada is mandatory.
• Veterinary Science candidates must possess and upload a valid registration of Karnataka Veterinary Council / Veterinary Council of India.

Specific Requirements by Post:

• Professor: Ph.D. in concerned/allied subject, minimum 10 years of Teaching/Research/Extension experience (including 2 years as Associate Professor), and minimum 10 research publications.
• Associate Professor: Ph.D. in concerned/allied subject, minimum 8 years of teaching/research/extension experience (equivalent to Assistant Professor), and minimum 7 publications.
• Assistant Professor: Must have cleared NET (UGC/ICAR/CSIR/SLET/SET) OR awarded a Ph.D. as per UGC Regulations 2009/2016 (with NET exemption conditions).

6. Age Limit (as on 20/06/2026)

Age limit is applicable only for Assistant Professor posts. No age limit for Professor and Associate Professor.

• General Merit (UR): 40 years
• 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B categories: 43 years
• SC, ST and Cat-I categories: 45 years
• In-service candidates: Age relaxation as per Govt. of Karnataka rules.

8. Application Process

• Candidates must apply online only through the KVAFSU Recruitment Portal: www.kvafsu.edu.in.
• The online application window is from 22/05/2026 (10:00 AM) to 20/06/2026 (5:00 PM).
• Register on the portal, fill the online form, and pay the non-refundable application fee.
• Upload scanned copies of required documents (photograph, signature, caste certificate, educational qualifications, experience, KVC/VCI registration, 371-J certificate, Rural Quota, Non-Creamy Layer, Medical Certificate, In-service certificate, CGPA conversion, Equivalence certificate). Each document in JPEG/JPG/PDF format, max 500 KB.
• After successful payment, download and print the application fee receipt for document verification.

9. Selection Process

1. Application Scrutiny and Score Card-based Shortlisting: Based on academic score and uploaded documents.
2. Kannada Language Test (if applicable): Mandatory for candidates who did not study Kannada at SSLC level (min 50% marks to qualify).
3. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must submit hard copies of application, self-attested copies of certificates, and original documents for verification.
4. Interview: Conducted for candidates who clear document verification.
