5. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• Educational Qualification:
  • Master's degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in the concerned subject (Political Science, History, Economics, Library and Information Science) from an Indian University or equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.
  • Cleared National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by UGC like SLET/SET. OR
  • Awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil /Ph.D. degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments. OR
  • Ph.D. degree obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among top 500 in the World University Ranking.
